• Question: If you could create a planet... What would it be like?

      My planet would be pretty earth like, mountains, seas, rivers, deserts, etc. One change I’d make though, is to have the moon much closer, so that it takes up half the sky when it’s full (like was the case when the earth was young). Would be an impressive sight….

      I would want to have a planet with higher mountains (up to 2o km), and a lot of smaller islands (because that would give a much longer coastline, with a much larger number of nice beaches!). So basically imagine the Maldives all over the place, plus super-tall mountains twice as tall as Mt Everest sticking out everywhere.

      I’d also want to have at least 2 moons in the sky, one bigger than the other, and of different colour. I think that would be quite cool! Also, we could imagine orbiting a star different than the Sun — for example, a Red Giant, which would look much bigger in the sky. And I would want to place our New Earth in the centre of the Galaxy, so that the night sky would glow full of many more stars than we see from Earth with our naked eye. That would be awesome!

      I’d make a planet which orbited two suns! (we’ve found planets like this!). And lots of moons too… It would be similar to earth, so you could have life, but made up of lots of islands instead of big continents. And the weathet would be good almost ‘ll the time 🙂 not sure how I’d make that happen though…

      I would want my planet to be completely unlike Earth so that a different type of life could evolve! The sky could be a different colour, let’s go with purple as that’s my favourite colour, instead of blue and the land would cover more than 40% of the planet’s surface so life could spread out further! I’d like the planet to have water still though so that there could be marine life, but maybe there could be more diversity than there is on Earth. Dinosaurs still being around would be pretty cool…

      My planet would have more than one moon too! How cool would it be to be able to look up and see two moons in the night sky? Or three for that matter… I’d also want it to be towards the centre of it’s galaxy so that the night sky was more impressive; looking up and seeing millions of stars would be absolutely incredible!
