  No ! I don’t believe that Paul the octopus knew the football scores in advance. I do love octopi though – they are such cool things! There are some awesome videos online of octopi negotiating mazes, and changing colour. I think they can even open jars etc! They really are fantastic!

  No, I don’t think any animal (or person) can see the future. However, animals do have some extraordinary abilities that we are just beginning to understand, that make them appear to be able to see into the future. For example, elephant herds that separate will meet in the same place weeks or months later. How do they all know to meet in exactly the same place at the same time? It turns out that they have a special sensory organ in their feet that can feel the vibration of other elephants miles away. So they stamp the ground to communicate with each other. Amazing!
