It depends what you mean by my work! The research I do will help us know more about how black holes work, so that should get anyone who is interested in black holes more excited 🙂 But as well as that, I do outreach, which is going to events and schools to talk to kids about Astronomy and the research I do, usually with the University of Southampton’s inflatable planetarium, called the astrodome. The whole point of this is to get kids excited about Astronomy! And I’m pretty sure it usually works 🙂 In the astrodome, we can project the night sky all around you, then zoom in to particular things in space so that we can talk about the science of them, and how our own research relates to them.

If I win I’m a Scientist get me out of here, I want to spend the prize money on taking the astrodome to more kids, so that I can get more of them excited about astronomy. So yes, is the short answer, I think I will get more kids excited about Astronomy 🙂
