Most astronauts take up dehydrated food. This is normal food that has been dried so that there’s no water in it. It can then fit into a really small space, and when you add water you get the food back!
It’s much easier as the food doesn’t go off and it can be packed into small containers. This means you’re taking up a small envelope to add water too instead of a lot of cans of beans!

Food is dehydrated before being sent into space to save on weight and space in the shuttle or rocket, so it can really be anything! There are dehydrated meals in bags but also puddings too! Astronaut ice cream is really, really nice!

Personally, I would want to ear spaghetti! Sure, it might be a bit messy in space, but it would be fun to squeeze them out one by one from a tube and suck them in before they float away!
